Social media is often too eager to tell us what they say is fact; for example, that Trump cut down 60 cherry trees from the White House grounds, the trees given to us in 1910 as a gift from Japan.
He did not cut them down.
He eliminated trees, including maybe one cherry, from the island in the river that supports the East Potomac Golf Links according to Snopes, which is the oldest site for debunking viral claims, urban legends and hoaxes. His intent is to “fix” the course, perhaps a gold statue of himself where each tree once cast shade and beauty and relaxing thoughts to the golfers. Why he’s fixing it I don’t know; it is a public course.
Much more often than we can bear, there’s something new with this administration. The leader of sycophants drones on and on – no truths in sight – and thus sends millions of people away from the news. This places them in peril because they’re not finding out what Trump and his gang of nitwits are doing to demean their country and hurt them – poor, black, brown, Asian, American Indian, Islander, female, farmer, small business person, intelligent, educated, bisexual, lesbian, gay, transgender, cross-dresser, ugly, disabled or old.
The administration is directing DHS (Department of Homeland Security, founded after the 9-11 attacks on New York City and the Pentagon, to interfere with the midterm election coming up on Tuesday, Nov. 3. His modus operandi has been chugging along for a few months without telling us; hardly unusual, but disconcerting, nonetheless. His excuse for this illegal political invasion is that there are “250,000 registered noncitizens in just four states [California, Nevada, Pennsylvania, New Jersey] voting illegally in this country.”
Really? Is this lie like his continuous lies since 2015? “We are building a wall, and Mexico is paying for the wall.” [June 16, 2015] “But God looked down and he said, ‘We’re not going to let it rain on your speech’” as it rained on his inauguration speech on Jan.21, 2016. “Our country is being invaded by an army of 25 million people.” [Dec. 17, 2025]
The man cannot help himself, and he continues it because he likes to aggravate. Ninety-nine percent of the world is hurt by him on a daily basis.
What he’s lying about right now is his choice of nine states to be hit by ICE security investigators who will demand voter rolls so he can strike off voters who will not vote for him. If he says nine states, it’s probably really the 19 states and the District of Columbia that are Democratic leaning.
I don’t get this, because our voting system is Secret Ballot. No one but you knows how you vote.
He’s already announced an executive order to tame the United States Postal Service, introducing an error-riddled [says PBS] computer system intended to rid the mail service of mail-in ballots to be delivered to at-home voters. Trump himself votes mail-in; the majority of the one out of three mail-in ballots come from older white Americans and the hundreds of thousands of overseas military voters.
~~ You may know all of the above, but if you don’t, I’m just stirring the hornets’ nest. Perhaps you’ll call Representatives, Senators, Supreme Court justices, podcasters, newscasters, reporters, a friend . . . regarding the most annoying human on earth. I think that “he who cannot tell a truth” does it not only out of habit and vainglory but because he knows it ticks us off.
